Community Guidelines & Code of Conduct
Welcome to your alternative brick hangout. GayFOLs Community Outreach is a nonprofit corporation organized exclusively to create safe, inclusive, and welcoming spaces for LGBTQ+ individuals and our trusted allies within the LEGO® fan community. Grab a baseplate, and let's build something together. By participating in any GayFOLs space, web asset, or event, you accept and agree to abide by this Code of Conduct.
This is a Vetted Safe Space
Other groups can turn hostile when builders out themselves, but GayFOLs will never be like that. We enforce a strict, zero-tolerance policy against trolling, homophobia, transphobia, racism, and harassment. No exceptions.
Pillars of Participation
Our guidelines apply uniformly across all our digital networks, virtual sessions, and live physical footprints.
Our Digital Socials
Our Facebook group, Discord server, and other chat spaces are laid-back. Share your custom creations, brick gossip, and news. Anything LEGO or LEGO-adjacent is welcome here. Keep it kind and casual.
Website Interactions
Our official site protects your privacy. Show off your custom builds in the member galleries without worry. Respect other builders' boundaries, use clean language, and keep comments supportive.
Virtual Meetings
We host virtual monthly meetups, creative build challenges, and public Zoom gatherings to keep our global community connected. Keep discussions constructive and avoid hate speech, trolling, or spamming. Use appropriate screen names and avatars, and follow moderator instructions promptly.
In-Person Meet-ups
We connect face-to-face through dedicated safe-space programming at major LEGO conventions and trade shows across the United States. Look for our dinner gatherings, casual chats, and hotel lobby meet-ups. Treat every builder with respect and use common sense.
Sponsored Events
When displaying custom builds at collaborative tables, you represent our global family. Wear your pride pins, share custom appreciation tokens, and make the public feel welcome. We officially track and report all public engagements, display presences, and events where we engage the community.
